Jr. League Showhouse – Newton, MA

When The Junior League of Boston asked me for my inspiration for the design and decoration for the original double parlor space, I responded that we were very excited and inspired by the historic Nathaniel Allen house. With its charm and beautiful architectural bones, it created a gorgeous framework for the space as a receiving room and sitting room.

With the first-time collaboration of Ankasa Bespoke couture-embroidered textiles and countless other resources, I was able to achieve a space with a fresh vibe that still had classic roots. Both rooms created a timeless feel by preserving certain period elements, while also mixing modern and traditional furnishings. The breath-taking de Gournay chinoiserie wallpaper evokes the feeling of spring. The contemporary nature of the art, contrasting with the elegant sensibilities of the room, produce a stylish and provocative statement that is indicative of what makes a truly memorable space.
